About Dr. Lilian Amachree
Dr. Lilian Amachree is a distinguished Optometrist and Optical Technologist with extensive expertise in eye care. She earned her first degree in Optical Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) in 2010 and, after completing her NYSC in 2011, returned to FUTO to obtain a second degree in Optometry. As the Medical Director of JE-SOlZ Eye Center, Dr. Lilian Amachree specializes in refraction, corneal care, pre- and post-operative cataract and refractive surgery, as well as advanced glaucoma management. Her top-tier skills extend to pediatric, geriatric, and orthoptic optometry.
Dr. Lilian has collaborated with esteemed ophthalmologists in Nigeria, India, London and other parts of the world, observing over 500 cataract and glaucoma surgeries and around 20 phacoemulsification procedures. As a seasoned Platinum Mentor with the Family of Optometric Mentors and an active member of the Nigerian Optometric Association in Rivers and Abuja Chapters, she brings over 14 years of experience to her practice. Her unwavering commitment is to ensure that every patient's vision and eye health are preserved and enhanced from their first consultation.
Achievements and Awards
Pioneering Mentor Award (2021)
For conducting her first interstate group mentoring program, tutoring 27 optometrists, and leading various one-on-one mentoring sessions.
Excellence in Optometry Award (2021)
For winning the FOM merit award and being recognized by Essilor International with an ophthalmoscope and retinoscope.
Leadership and Service Excellence Award (2020)
For receiving a commendation from FOM for leadership, commitment, and selfless service, along with a gift of a trial lens box and vision therapy equipment.
